Studio time at Juniper starts at $100 for two hours. The more prepared you are, the more songs leave finished. Here's what actually helps.
Know the songs cold
If you can't play it in the practice room without stopping, you won't magically play it under headphones. Lock form, tempo, and lyrics before you walk in. Demos on your phone are fine — we don't need a full pre-production album.
Bring 2–3 references, not 40
Pick songs that sound like the record you want. “Make it sound expensive” isn't a direction. “Kick like this, vocal like that” is.
You don't need to haul a rig
Guitars, vintage amps, a Steinway, and a full drum kit are already here. Bring your voice, your songs, and any instrument you specifically want. See the gear list.
Vocals: rest
Sleep. Water. Don't blow your voice at a bar the night before. Comping is included on recording sessions — we can stack takes — but a healthy voice is faster.
If you're sending a mix instead
