Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to record a song at Juniper Studio?

A fully produced song — recording, mixing, and mastering, plus arrangement and production as needed — is $750 through our Production package. If you just need studio time to track, Recording alone is a 2-hour minimum session for $100 (then $50/hr after), but that covers recording only — mixing ($200/song) and mastering ($75/song) are billed separately if you book them on their own.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes. New local artists (Fort Smith metro & NWA) get 50% off production packages — a finished song for $375 instead of $750, or album packages at half price. Mention it when you book. We also run holiday specials — ask or check socials.

Do I need to bring my own instruments or gear?

No. Juniper Studio has a full in-house backline — custom shop guitars, vintage amps, a Steinway upright piano, and a complete drum kit — plus a high-end signal chain (API, BAE, Neumann, Royer, Coles, AEA). Artists can walk in with just their songs.

Where is Juniper Studio located and who do you work with?

The studio is based in Central City, AR, near Fort Smith. We regularly work with artists from Fayetteville, Rogers, Bentonville, Little Rock, Conway, and Russellville, AR, plus Tulsa and OKC, OK, and Nashville, TN. Remote mixing and mastering is available anywhere.

What's included in a mixing session?

Mixing is $200/song and includes a full mix from your multitracks (stems accepted if that's all you have) — EQ, compression, automation, spatial processing, and reference mastering — with up to 5 rounds of revisions.

Do you offer discounts for a full album or EP?

Yes. Album packages bundle recording, mixing, mastering, and project management at a discount: 3 songs for $1,500, 5 songs for $2,000, or 10 songs for $3,000, versus paying for each service separately.

What's the difference between Production and an Album Package?

Production is one finished song for $750 — recording, mixing, and mastering included, plus arrangement, beat-making, and session guitar as needed. Album Packages are the same start-to-finish work bundled for 3, 5, or 10 songs at a discount.

Who engineers the sessions?

Dillon Taylor — almost 20 years in the business, engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar most of all). Hundreds of songs tracked, mixed, or produced. You work with him directly.

Do I have to pay online before we talk?

No. Contact or text first to book. Online payment is optional when you're ready.

Can you mix or master remotely?

Yes. Send multitracks or a stereo mix from anywhere. Mixing is $200/song (up to 5 revisions). Mastering is $75/song. Mix + master bundle is $250/song.

Do you offer consulting?

Yes. Same rate as studio time: $100 for 2 hours, then $50/hr. In-studio, remote, or on-site. Travel is billed separately and quoted before we book.

What should I bring to a recording session?

Songs, and any instrument you specifically want to use. Guitars, amps, a Steinway piano, drums, mics, and the signal chain are already here. Headphones and files go home with you.
